Meanwhile, Microsoft has also indicated it will start doing so. These parties want to make sure that the mail coming into our mailbox is actually from the sender, reducing the number of spoofing mails we have to deal with.
Domain name protection is a service where we help companies secure their email domain from misuse. By using SPF, DKIM and DMARC, companies can reduce the chances of their domain name being used for malicious purposes such as phishing and spoofing. These security protocols verify the authenticity of emails so that only authorized parties can send messages on behalf of a company's domain.
Our approach
Inventory of your domain names
We begin by identifying all the domain names in your possession. Often a company has several domain names, for example to prevent third parties with a similar name from abusing your brand.
Monitoring and Analysis
All domains are monitored for 2-4 weeks to determine which domains are actively used for email. Inactive domains we configure as inactive to minimize security risks.
Configuration of active domain names
Based on the insights gained, we optimize the settings of your active domain names. Together with your IT department (or IT partner), we ensure that all sending servers are correctly configured according to SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
Gradual implementation of DMARC policy
To avoid disruptions, we implement DMARC incrementally:
- Policy: None: We monitor without direct actions.
- Policy: Quarantine: Unauthorized emails will be quarantined.
- Policy: Reject: Only authorized emails will be accepted.
Ongoing monitoring and support
After implementation, we continue to actively monitor your domains. New systems or changes in your IT infrastructure are included by us to keep security continuously current.
