In June 2025, Citrix Hypervisor version 8.2 will reach its End of Life (EOL). From then on, security updates and support will no longer be provided for this version. This can have serious implications for both security and the continuity of your business processes.
Which license do I need?

XenServer continues to be based on the same kernel as Citrix Hypervisor 8.2. This makes the transition to XenServer technically straightforward. Moreover, all hardware compatible with Citrix Hypervisor 8.2 is also fully supported by XenServer 8. This makes upgrading not only necessary, but also practically feasible.
All virtual machines (VMs) currently running on Citrix Hypervisor 8.2 will continue to work on XenServer 8. However, it is recommended that XenServer tools be installed and updated regularly.
